Maruti Suzuki India on Friday reported a 35.3 per cent increase in its domestic passenger vehicle sales in April, rising to 187,704 units during the month against 138,704 units in the year-ago period.

During the period under review, the small car segment, including mini, compact and mid-size cars, registered a growth of 41.7 per cent to 96,725 units against 68,244 units sold in April 2025.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said that the company is witnessing robust growth in the mini segment – Alto and S-Presso. He attributed the growth to three key factors: GST2.0, income tax relief and repo rate reduction.

Maruti Suzuki said its exports also increased sharply by 43.5 per cent (YoY), reaching 40,054 units against 27,911 units in April 2025.
