Rajan SharmaJSW Motors has appointed Rajan Sharma as Head – Strategy & Planning, as the company strengthens its leadership team amid plans to build a new mobility-focused automotive business in India.
Sharma announced his new role through a post on LinkedIn, where he described the emergence of a new large Indian automotive brand as a “rare moment for the industry”.
“The emergence of a new large Indian automotive brand is a rare moment for the industry. Delighted to join JSW Motors as Head – Strategy & Planning,” Sharma said in the post, adding that India’s automotive landscape is entering another defining phase as the sector transitions towards new energy vehicles and next-generation mobility ecosystems.
Prior to joining JSW Motors, Sharma served as Head – Sales Planning at Tata Motors from April 2024 to March 2026. He also held multiple leadership roles at MG Motor India, including Field Sales Head for South and West India and General Manager and Zonal Head for the South zone.
Earlier in his career, Sharma worked with CarDekho Group in sales and strategy roles and also had a stint at Hyundai Motor India.
In his LinkedIn post, Sharma said the JSW Group’s vision to build a future-ready mobility ecosystem aligns with broader ambitions in innovation, infrastructure, and nation-building.
JSW Group has been actively exploring opportunities in the automotive and new energy mobility space and is expected to launch its first product in the market this calendar year.
