A major development has emerged from Bihar’s Chhapra district, where notorious criminal Shikari Rai, also known as Nand Kishore Rai, was injured in a police encounter. The encounter took place near Akhtiyarpur canal, where police teams had traced his location after yesterday’s murder incident in the area. According to officials, a man was shot dead in Chhapra on the previous day, triggering an intensive investigation. Based on CCTV footage and scientific evidence, police identified Shikari Rai as the prime suspect. During the search operation, Rai allegedly opened fire on the police. In retaliatory action, officers shot and overpowered him. Two pistols and magazines were recovered from the encounter site, indicating the accused was heavily armed. The injured criminal was immediately taken to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment under police custody. Authorities say the operation was part of a broader crackdown on rising criminal activities in Chhapra.
