SS Rajamouli and Prabhas’ Baahubali: The Epic earns just Rs 4 lakh on Monday

In an astonishing comeback, Baahubali has reclaimed its crown, achieving a phenomenal Rs 33.45 crore during its re-release, making it the highest-grossing re-release in India’s cinematic history. A decade on, the film continues to captivate audiences, with the Telugu version taking the lead while the Hindi and Tamil adaptations also attract enthusiastic crowds, reaffirming its legendary status.

SS Rajamouli and Prabhas’ Baahubali: The Epic Re-Release has completed yet another milestone, ending its third Monday on a historic note. Even though the film earned just Rs 4 lakh on Monday, the figure spread across all languages comes after an exceptionally strong run at the box office. With this, the re-release has taken its total collection to Rs 33.45 crore, officially becoming India’s highest-grossing re-release of all time. The film, which was re-released in theatres on 31st October, continues to bring audiences back to cinemas even 18 days after release. On the 18th day (Monday, 17th October), the Telugu and Hindi versions earned Rs 1 lakh each, while the Tamil version added Rs 2 lakh, taking the day’s total to Rs 4 lakh. Despite the sharp drop from its opening weekend numbers, the longevity and consistency of the re-release have surprised the trade. The lion’s share of the film’s re-release business has come from the Telugu version, which has amassed a massive Rs 23.01 crore so far. The Telugu-speaking audience, which has always held Baahubali close to its heart, turned up in huge numbers, especially during the first week. The Hindi version has also performed strongly, bringing in Rs 6.91 crore, proving once again the unstoppable popularity of the franchise across North India. The Tamil version collected Rs 2.48 crore, while the rest of the business came from the Malayalam and Kannada versions, which together helped push the re-release total beyond the Rs 33 crore mark and beat Harshvardhan Rane’s Sanam Teri Kasam which till now was the biggest re-release film. What makes the film’s performance even more remarkable is the fact that Baahubali is nearly a decade old, yet the excitement surrounding it remains undiminished. Fans flocked to theatres not just for nostalgia but also to experience the re-cut version which put both the films together on the big screen once again. The film also features Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj and Nassar in leading roles.
