‘Will hunt them down even from depths of patal': Amit Shah’s warning after Delhi blast; vows strict action

NEW DELHI: Chairing the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council (NZC) in Haryana, Shah said: “We will hunt down the culprits of the Delhi bomb blast even from the depths of the netherworld (patal) and ensure they receive the strictest possible punishment.”The explosion that occurred on November 10 near the Red Fort metro station has claimed 15 lives. Last week, the Union cabinet officially termed the incident as a “heinous terror attack” and assured that those who were involved in the incident would be given “the strictest possible punishment.”He also promised the proceedings to be rigorous enough to send a global message that no one should dare contemplate such attacks in India. “Punishment given to the perpetrators of the Delhi terror attack will send a message to the world that no one should ever dare to even think of such an attack in our country,” Shah had said.On Monday, the NIA arrested another key conspirator linked to the terrorist who was driving the car that blew up.”Active co-conspirator” Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish is a Kashmir resident who was arrested from Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir by the team. According to the anti-terror agency, 73 witnesses have been examined so far, including injured survivors, while coordination with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other agencies is ongoing to map the wider conspiracy and dismantle the network behind the attack.
