Soha simplifies stock market buzz

Soha Ali Khan simplifies stock market buzz around Lenskart’s Rs 7278 crore IPO, 'If you’re hoping to get rich by next Friday...'

Actor Soha Ali Khan took a refreshing detour from cinema to finance as she decoded the concept of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) for her followers. In a recent video shared on her Instagram handle, Soha broke down how private companies invite public investment and what potential investors should keep in mind before taking the plunge.“An IPO is when a private company sells its shares to the public for the first time. Basically, it’s saying — now you can own a tiny piece of our company,” Soha explained, keeping her tone conversational and easy to understand.

The buzz around a big listing

In the video, Soha referenced the massive Lenskart’s Rs 7,278-crore IPO that is currently creating a storm among retail investors. Without getting overly technical, she outlined the pros and cons of investing in such high-profile market offerings.“It’s a strong brand and a growing business,” she noted, acknowledging the excitement surrounding the listing. However, she balanced her enthusiasm with a word of caution: “The IPO is expensive compared to the current profits. Some of the money is going to existing investors who are looking to cash out.”

A gentle reminder from Soha

Soha concluded her message with a candid note on financial patience, “If you believe in the brand long term, then great. But if you’re hoping to get rich by next Friday, maybe have another think.”The actor captioned her post, “Financial literacy isn’t just about saving or investing, it’s about making informed choices.”

On the work front

Soha was last seen in ‘Chhorii 2’, directed by Vishal Furia and written by Divya Prakash Dubey, Vishal Furia, and Ajit Jagtap.
