‘Bugonia’: Emma Stone proudly reveals she ‘broke no bones’

'Bugonia': Emma Stone proudly reveals she 'broke no bones'; director highlights 'soul' of the film

Emma Stone, the Oscar-winning actress, proudly revealed that she did not break any bones while shooting for ‘Bugonia,’ the upcoming film that revolves around two men who kidnap their CEO after being convinced that she’s an alien who wants to destroy Earth.

Emma Stone didn’t break any bones

The actress, who is fascinated by experimental films, has a record of breaking bones during the shoot – and this film doesn’t count in the list, according to Reuters. Recalling the time Stone felt nervous to shoot with her co-star Jesse Palmons, who plays Teddy Gatz, when he had to tackle her, the actress affirmed that he did an ‘incredible job’ and she did not break a single bone. For the ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ actress, she felt that the complexity between the characters was well presented in the story, especially between her character, CEO of Pharmaceutical company Michelle Fuller, and Gatz. “It’s just so fun to not know whose side you’re on back and forth throughout the entire story, who’s in the right, who’s in the wrong, and they’re both kind of right, and they’re both pretty wrong,” she said.

The ‘voice of logic’ in the film

Meanwhile, the entire absurd-comedy film revolves around a conspiracy, and the obsessed bee-keeper theorists who can connect the dots. Giving the voice of logic and being the soul of the film, Aidan Delbis plays Gatz’s cousin Don, and both are on the autism spectrum, adding a much-needed representation on the big screen. Speaking about the character Don, Director Yorgos Lanthimos said, “That character felt different and felt that he had a different sensibility and a different view of the world, and he was very sensitive,” and added, “So, I thought that a neurodivergent person would be perfect for this kind of role.”Based on the 2003 Korean film, ‘Save the Green Planet!’, the film will be released on October 31, 2025, in the USA.
