GOOGLE DOODLE TODAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2025: Today, tech giant Google marks a major milestone — its 27th birthday — with a special Google Doodle that takes users on a nostalgic journey back to where it all began. The Doodle, displayed on the search engine’s homepage, features Google’s first-ever logo from 1998, a simple yet iconic design that harks back to the early days of the internet.

Founded in September 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google began as a research project in a modest garage in Menlo Park, California. What started as an academic experiment to create a better way to search the web has since evolved into one of the most influential tech companies in the world — organising the world’s information and making it universally accessible and useful.

This year’s birthday Doodle doesn’t just look back — it also serves as a bridge between past and future.

While the vintage logo reminds users of Google’s roots, the accompanying message encourages exploration of Google’s latest innovations in AI, demonstrating how far the company has come in just over two decades.

From search and Gmail to Android and cutting-edge AI tools like Bard and Gemini, Google’s journey reflects the rapid pace of innovation in the digital era.

Over the years, Google Doodles themselves have become a beloved tradition — interactive, educational, and often whimsical celebrations of global events, historical figures, and cultural milestones. This 27th birthday Doodle is no exception, offering a reflective moment for the company and its billions of users worldwide.

As we celebrate Google’s 27 years of shaping how we access and interact with information, we’re reminded that big ideas can come from humble beginnings. From a garage startup to a global tech powerhouse, Google’s story continues to inspire innovation, creativity, and curiosity.

Happy 27th Birthday, Google! Here’s to many more years of searching, discovering, and inventing the future.
