Just a five-hour drive from Delhi-NCR, the roads winding through these forests enhance the sense of escape from urban life. Among the district’s many attractions, Sharda Sagar Dam stands out as the most peaceful spot for visitors seeking calm amidst nature.

Between Sharda dam and canal is situated a serene chuka beach. It is a beautiful tourist destination with one bamboo hut, one tree house and four Thara huts. Best time to visit Chuka beach is between the month of October and April.

Each year, thousands of tourists visit Pilibhit to enjoy this natural beauty, serene surroundings, and wildlife. The district also offers a range of charming local stays, from cosy homestays to budget-friendly resorts, allowing visitors to experience the local culture up close.

Travel to Pilibhit is convenient via road, rail, or air. By bus, a non-AC journey costs between Rs 400 to Rs 527, while AC sleeper or seater buses range from Rs 400 to Rs 1,290 per person. Train fares vary from Rs 105 to Rs 1,445 depending on the category.

For road trip enthusiasts, Sharda Sagar Dam offers a memorable route. Starting from Gauhania Square via the Madhotanda route, travellers enter the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve after around 11 kilometres. Driving through the dense forest for about 8 kilometres and crossing Kalinagar Bridge, visitors reach the dam. The 25-kilometre stretch along the dam is scenic, promising an unforgettable experience.

Whether it is the serenity of the forest, the thrill of spotting wildlife, or the joy of a scenic road trip, Pilibhit combines natural beauty and accessibility, making it an ideal budget-friendly weekend getaway from Delhi-NCR.
