Ashwin Kumar’s mythological animation action drama, Mahavatar Narimsha, has etched its name in Indian cinema history, surpassing expectations post-release. Defying competition from major films, it has grossed over Rs 250 crore in 53 days, becoming the highest-grossing Indian animation film. The Hindi version leads with Rs 187.53 crore, contributing significantly to its success across multiple languages.

The mythological animation action drama Mahavatar Narimsha directed by Ashwin Kumar has written its name in his history of Indian cinema with golden words. The film before its release carried very little excitement amongst the audience but once people entered the cinema halls, there was no looking back for the film. The film grew strength by strength with each passing day and today it has crossed a major benchmark with which all future animation films would be compared with. The film on its 53rd day of the release has breached the Rs 250 crore mark. On Monday the film added Rs 6 lakh to its collection thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 250.01 crore. The film which was released a week after Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara has managed to thwart competition from titles like Rajinikanth’s Coolie to Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani and Jr NTR’s War 2 and even against the moneyspinner Lokah- Chapter 1- Chandra which is in it’s third week the film held on to it’s strongly. Over the 8th weekend, the film minted Rs 11 lakh on its 50th day and saw a more than 100 % jump on 41st day to collect Rs 26 lakh and on 52nd day the collection jumped by more than 60 % to earn Rs 43 lakh, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 249.95 crore. And with Rs 6 lakh collection on Monday, the film breached the Rs 250 crore mark. The reimagined story of Lord Narsimha, Bhakt Prabhlad and Hiranyakashyap has already become the highest grossing animation of India and as it crosses the Rs 250 crore mark- it will be the first animation film to do so.

The film was released in multiple languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, though Hindi has been the engine of the film. The Hindi version has contributed Rs 187.53 crore in 53 days and has become the 50th highest grossing Hindi film of all time. While the Kannada version has contributed Rs 9.87 crore, Telugu version is at Rs 49.14 crore , Tamil at Rs 2.91 crore and Malayalam version at Rs 56 lakh.Mahavatar Narsimha is part of a 7 series Mahavatar Universe, the six other films will by 7 different incarnations of Lord Vishnu on earth and they are
