In a chilling case from Partapur village in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, a woman and her lover have been accused of strangling her husband to death. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Bibinagar police station. Police said the woman, identified as Preeti, along with her lover Abhay, plotted and killed her 37-year-old husband, Ompal. Both were arrested soon after the crime came to light.
Investigations revealed that Preeti and Abhay had been involved in a love affair for the past two years. Desiring to live together, they saw Ompal as an obstacle. Consequently, they conspired to kill him. On Monday night, Preeti and Abhay executed their plan, strangling Ompal with a dupatta.

In an attempt to conceal the murder, the accused reportedly tried to make it appear as though Ompal had suffered a heart attack. They allegedly staged a scene to mislead the villagers and the family, but their deception was short-lived. According to reports, it was the deceased’s niece who uncovered the conspiracy and alerted the police, prompting a thorough investigation.
The police registered a case following a complaint from the deceased’s brother, Karan, and began their inquiry. During interrogation, Preeti and Abhay confessed to the crime.
Bulandshahr SP City Shankar Prasad stated, “Preeti and Abhay together strangled Ompal to death. On their indication, the dupatta used in the murder has also been recovered. During interrogation, both admitted that Ompal was hindering their love affair, prompting them to take this step.”
The police have taken both accused into custody and sent them to judicial custody. Further investigation is ongoing to uncover other aspects related to the murder.
