Aishwarya Rai is regarded as an eternal beauty and one of Bollywood’s most iconic divas. It is hardly surprising that her beauty has left many of her co-stars spellbound over the years. However, Sanjay Dutt once offered a rather candid observation about Aishwarya. In an old interview, he had shared that the beautiful and innocent side of Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) could disappear once she entered Bollywood.The comment dates back to 1993. Around the same time, Sanjay Dutt and Ash came together for a magazine cover shoot, during which the actor spoke about her beauty, innocence, and the changes that could probably come with entering the film industry. In an old interview with Cineblitz magazine, Sanjay Dutt once stated that there is too much pressure in the industry, and it can be challenging to sustain and preserve individuality, innocence, and beauty when so many of the fraternity members are constantly trying to pull you down. He was quoted, “When you come into this glamour industry, it starts changing and maturing that person; that innocence is lost. That beautiful side which she (Aishwarya) has right now on her face will disappear. Because she has to handle the film world right, and that is not easy to do.”He further added, “It’s not just the piling on; it’s cutthroat; it’s competitive. It’s like, ‘Man, I have to look better than that; I’ve got to be there.’ You know, you climb two steps, and there will be like 500 people pulling you down five steps. And you become hard. And those beautiful qualities are gone.”In the same interview, Sanjay Dutt also mentioned that his sister liked Aishwarya Rai a lot; however, she warned him to not woo the beauty and get her phone number when they met. “My sisters warned me before I came for this session. They told me, ‘Don’t you woo her. Don’t take her number. Don’t send her flowers,” he said. In the same conversation, Dutt also revealed that his sisters knew Aishwarya Rai even before her debut. Recalling her famous cold drink ad, he said that everyone liked her in that commercial so much, and she had become popular even before her debut film.On the work front, Sanjay Dutt and Aishwarya Rai share a great friendly rapport and together worked on films such as ‘Shabd’ and ‘Hum Kisise Kum Nahin.’
