Jharkhand News: Sanjay Seth Targets Rahul Gandhi Over Silence on Ranchi Student Protest

The political battle over the ongoing student protest in Ranchi intensified as Union Minister Sanjay Seth attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of adopting a “double standard” on student issues. Speaking on the JPSC and JSSC recruitment controversy, Seth questioned why Rahul Gandhi had raised his voice on student protests in other states but had not visited Jharkhand or spoken publicly on the Ranchi agitation. Sanjay Seth said the students’ demand for a CBI investigation into alleged examination irregularities was justified and urged the Jharkhand government to take immediate steps. He demanded cancellation of disputed examinations and strict action against everyone found responsible, regardless of their position. Meanwhile, Jharkhand Congress minister Deepika Pandey Singh defended the state government’s approach, saying that a delegation led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been formed to hold discussions with the protesting students. She said positive communication has emerged from student representatives and expressed hope that talks would take place soon. Responding to opposition demands for a CBI probe and the Chief Minister’s resignation, Deepika Pandey Singh said the ongoing CID investigation would bring out the truth. She argued that the opposition’s demand for resignation had no basis while the investigation was actively progressing, with arrests and other legal actions already taking place. The student movement in Ranchi continues over three major demands, including a fresh examination process, an independent investigation, and reforms in the recruitment system. With the government preparing for dialogue and opposition parties increasing political pressure, the issue has become a major flashpoint in Jharkhand’s political landscape.
