A major road accident near Jhansi claimed the lives of Atiq Ahmed’s youngest son Aaban Ahmed and one of his companions. According to initial information, Aaban was travelling from Prayagraj to Jhansi to meet his brother Ali Ahmed, who is currently lodged in jail, when the vehicle met with a severe accident. The crash took place on a state highway near Jhansi, around 50 kilometres before the city. Reports suggest that the car carrying five people lost control and collided with a divider. The impact was so intense that the front portion of the vehicle was completely destroyed. Visuals from the accident site showed the car heavily damaged and barely recognizable. Aaban was travelling with three friends and a driver. Two people, including Aaban and one of his companions, were declared dead after being taken to the hospital, while the remaining three injured passengers are undergoing treatment. Police and rescue teams reached the spot after the accident and shifted the victims to medical facilities. Preliminary information suggests that high speed, wet road conditions due to rain, and a possible attempt to avoid a stray animal on the road may have contributed to the accident. However, the exact cause will be confirmed after the police investigation. Aaban Ahmed was reportedly on his way to meet his brother Ali Ahmed, who had earlier been shifted from Prayagraj’s Naini jail to Jhansi jail. The accident occurred shortly before the group was expected to reach their destination.
