PoK Unrest: Pakistani Forces Accused of Deadly Crackdown in PoK

Tensions have escalated in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as Pakistani Army personnel and Rangers allegedly carried out a violent crackdown on protesters over the past 48 hours. According to the report, 24 unarmed civilians were killed in indiscriminate firing, while the total death toll since June 7 has reportedly risen to 98. The violence has been reported across areas including Mirpur and Rawalakot, where security forces allegedly dug trenches and established military-style barricades on roads. In Mirpur, protesters marching toward Muzaffarabad were reportedly fired upon without warning, resulting in multiple casualties. The report further alleges that hospitals have been taken over by security forces and that families have been denied access to the bodies of those killed. Despite the alleged crackdown, protesters have continued their demonstrations. A large group, reportedly numbering around 250,000 people, is said to be moving toward Muzaffarabad. Visuals from the protests allegedly show security forces opening fire on demonstrators, yet participants remain steadfast, with large crowds continuing their march despite the reported violence.
