Priyanka recalls Nick’s unusual request when they first began talking

Priyanka Chopra recalls Nick Jonas' unusual request when they first began chatting: 'He asked me for a photo that moment looking into the camera with a time stamp'

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas serve couple goals every time they are spotted together or talk about their marriage. In a recent interview, the couple revisited the early days of their romance, revealing how a simple Twitter exchange in 2016 eventually blossomed into one of Hollywood’s most-loved relationships. The couple opened up about their first-ever conversation on the July 14 episode of ‘Hey Jonas’, where Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas hilariously read out their old messages while Priyanka and Nick sat holding hands, laughing and cringing at the memories. During the episode, Priyanka also shared the surprising request Nick made after they switched from Twitter DMs to text messages, he asked her to prove she was really herself by sending a timestamped photo.Their story began when Kevin Jonas asked Nick if he had watched ‘Quantico’, the ABC drama starring Priyanka Chopra between 2015 and 2018. Although Nick admitted he had never seen the show, spotting Priyanka on a billboard for the series piqued his interest and prompted him to reach out. Joe Jonas then read aloud Nick’s first direct message to Priyanka on Twitter.“Hello. I’ve heard from a few people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people.. Are you in LA anytime soon?” read Nick’s first message to Priyanka. At the time, their mutual friend Graham Rogers had already mentioned Nick to Priyanka. Responding to his message, she suggested they continue the conversation away from social media. “Hey.. Graham’s told me so much about you.. Let’s text. More private. My team can access this.”The pair then exchanged phone numbers and continued chatting over text. Recalling those early conversations, Kevin Jonas asked Nick to reveal the very first message he sent to Priyanka’s number. Nick jokingly dodged the request, saying, “You can’t see that one.” Priyanka, however, revealed exactly what happened next, explaining that Nick wanted to make sure he was actually texting her and not someone pretending to be the actor.“I will tell you what that first text was. He wanted to corroborate it was actually me. So he asked me for a photo that moment looking into the camera with a time stamp. I was like ‘this guy is so sus of me already’. But I appreciated it too,” said Priyanka. The couple also shared that although they first connected in 2016, they didn’t begin dating until around a year and a half later. Their whirlwind romance quickly progressed, with Nick and Priyanka getting engaged just two-and-a-half months after they officially started dating in July 2018.
