Kangana hails women as Devi, Shakti and Mata amid defending UP Governor’s controversial expert mother remark

Kangana Ranaut hails women as 'Devi, Shakti and Mata' amid defending UP Governor Anandiben Patel’s controversial 'expert mother' remark: 'God has bestowed upon us the duty of nurturing humanity'

Kangana Ranaut backed UP Governor Anandiben Patel’s “expert mother” remark, calling nurturing women’s “true nature.” She recalled childhood memories of playing with dolls, calling caregiving instinctive and divine. Patel had earlier said women should become “expert mothers” before pursuing careers like IAS or teaching, sparking a gender debate.

Kangana Ranaut has responded to the controversy sparked by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel’s recent remarks on women, asserting that nurturing comes naturally to women and stands as one of their greatest strengths. Her comments arrive amid a heated gender debate, triggered after the Governor said women should first become “expert mothers” before taking up careers in fields like civil services or teaching.

Kangana Ranaut recalls her childhood

According to a report by ANI, the actor took to X to share a post reflecting on her childhood, recalling how she gravitated towards playing with dolls while her brother enjoyed outdoor sports. She recounted memories of constructing dollhouses, sewing clothes for them, and pretending to cook on toy stoves, suggesting that nurturing and caregiving had always been second nature to her.

Kangana Ranaut on building “dollhouses”

Reminiscing about her childhood days of building “dollhouses” and playing the role of a mother, Kangana wrote, “When we were small, my brother played football and cricket, but I carefully built dollhouses, stitched their clothes and cooked their food. Much to everyone’s amusement at home, I made small chulhas and pretended to be a doll mom.”

Kangana Ranaut on nurturing as “true nature”

The actor went on to argue that nurturing isn’t something women must learn, calling it their “true nature” and a duty bestowed by the divine. Kangana wrote, “It is not something that we need to learn. God has bestowed upon us the duty of nurturing humanity. It is our true nature, which is why women are called Devi, Shakti, Annapurna, Mata and many other such forms. But beyond all that, it is such a joy to love, to feed, to dance and to nurture.”

Anandiben Patel’s original remarks

Patel made these remarks while addressing the 41st convocation of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University in Kanpur on Thursday, where she encouraged women to first become “expert mothers” before setting their sights on becoming IAS officers or teachers. During her address, she said, “Whether you become an IAS officer or a teacher, first become an expert mother. Everyone should know how to cook the food prepared at home.” Go to Source
