While defending Champat Rai, he said he did not believe Rai was directly involved in wrongdoing but criticized his alleged negligence, saying that ignoring information and believing he could handle everything alone may have contributed to lapses. He described it as a weakness in management style rather than a character flaw. Responding to questions about accountability, the trust treasurer said every member has some responsibility, including him, but clarified that his role was limited to maintaining accounts and not the counting of donations from hundis. The trust stated that major decisions, including future administrative changes, would be taken after the final SIT report. Officials assured that steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
