Ayodhya Ram Temple Probe: SIT Expands Land Deal Investigation as Parallel Donation Theft Inquiry Continues

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified its investigation in Ayodhya by widening its probe into land purchases made by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, while a separate investigation into the alleged theft of temple offerings is also progressing simultaneously. As part of the latest phase of the inquiry, SIT officials revisited Ayodhya and examined documents related to land acquisitions carried out by the Trust. Investigators questioned Trust member Gopal Rao and trustee Dr. Anil Mishra, with the latter reportedly undergoing several hours of questioning regarding land-related records and payment procedures. Officials are reviewing documentation to verify the circumstances surrounding the transactions. According to sources, the SIT also plans to question Champat Rai, the Trust’s General Secretary, to seek his response regarding allegations linked to certain land purchases. The investigation is examining claims that some properties were acquired at prices significantly higher than their reported values. Authorities are verifying documentary evidence before drawing any conclusions. The SIT is expected to submit its final report by July 15, making the ongoing phase of evidence collection and witness examination particularly significant. Investigators continue to scrutinize financial records, land documents, and statements from individuals connected to the transactions. Parallel to the land inquiry, police are continuing their investigation into the alleged theft of offerings received at the Ram Temple. The accused, Avinash Shukla, remains under interrogation as investigators pursue additional evidence, including the search for a motorcycle believed to be relevant to the case. Political reactions have also emerged following the developments, with leaders from different sides making statements over the ongoing investigations and allegations. However, the SIT has not announced any findings or established wrongdoing at this stage. Both investigations remain active, and officials have emphasized that conclusions will be based on the evidence gathered during the inquiry.
