Pune Ketan Murder Case: Accused Siya Goyal to Face Court as Police Prepare for Polygraph Test

The investigation into the Ketan Agarwal murder case is set to enter a crucial phase as prime accused Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary are scheduled to be produced before the Vadgaon Maval court following the completion of their police custody. Investigators are expected to seek further legal directions as the probe continues to gather momentum. According to police sources, Siya Goyal has consented to undergo a polygraph (lie detector) test, subject to court approval. Investigators believe the examination could help verify statements made during interrogation and clarify inconsistencies surrounding the alleged conspiracy behind Ketan’s death. Under Indian law, a polygraph test requires both the accused’s written consent and judicial permission. During the custody period, police escorted Siya to her residence in Pune, where officials conducted a search, prepared a panchnama, and seized clothing allegedly worn on the day of the incident. Investigators also revisited locations believed to be linked to the case as they continued collecting physical and forensic evidence. The investigation is focused on establishing the sequence of events leading to the alleged murder at Lohagad Fort. Police are examining allegations that the crime was pre-planned and are verifying claims that the accused may have conducted rehearsals before the incident. Investigators are also exploring whether any additional individuals were involved in the alleged conspiracy. If permitted, the polygraph examination may include questions related to the planning of the incident, communication between the accused, deletion of digital evidence, and the possibility of accomplices. However, the results of a polygraph test are considered an investigative aid and do not, by themselves, constitute conclusive evidence in court. Police have already recorded statements from family members, acquaintances, and other individuals connected to the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced any final conclusions regarding the allegations.
