A major fire incident triggered panic in Lucknow’s Aliganj area after flames erupted inside a multi-storey commercial building housing a coaching center, office spaces, and a pet shop. According to eyewitness accounts, the fire reportedly started on the lower floor and rapidly spread through the structure, trapping several people inside and forcing others to take desperate measures to escape. Locals claimed that some individuals jumped from upper floors to save their lives, while several others were rescued with the help of nearby residents before emergency teams arrived. Witnesses also alleged that the fire brigade faced challenges due to the intensity of the blaze, prompting firefighters to break through adjoining walls and access the building from multiple sides. The affected premises reportedly included a study center, office facilities, and commercial establishments. Family members of those believed to be inside gathered at the scene as rescue operations continued. Eyewitnesses suggested that dozens of people may have been present in the building when the fire broke out, although authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number. Firefighters, police officials, and district administration teams remain engaged in rescue and cooling operations. Thick smoke engulfed the area, making entry into certain sections of the building extremely difficult. Emergency medical teams were also deployed to provide immediate treatment to injured victims. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage and verifying reports regarding casualties and people possibly trapped inside. The cause of the fire has not yet been officially determined, and a detailed investigation is expected once rescue efforts are completed. The incident has raised fresh concerns about fire safety compliance in commercial and educational establishments operating in densely populated urban areas.
