Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party during a public event in Firozabad, accusing the opposition party of prioritizing divisive politics over development. Addressing a gathering, the Chief Minister claimed that development does not feature in the Samajwadi Party’s agenda and alleged that the party has consistently worked against social harmony and progress in the state. Yogi Adityanath said that instead of focusing on public welfare and infrastructure growth, the opposition has been engaged in creating social divisions and encouraging disruptive elements. He further alleged that efforts aimed at improving the lives of the poor often face resistance from political groups that do not want development initiatives to succeed. The Chief Minister also criticized the Samajwadi Party over law-and-order issues, claiming that its political approach encourages disorder and hampers governance. Referring to development projects, he alleged that opposition leaders have repeatedly attempted to create obstacles in the implementation of government schemes designed for public benefit. In his speech, Yogi Adityanath additionally targeted the opposition over festivals and religious events, alleging that celebrations and cultural programs often became vulnerable to disturbances under previous political regimes. He asserted that the current government is committed to maintaining peace, security, and social cohesion while ensuring uninterrupted development across the state. The remarks come amid intensifying political activity ahead of future electoral contests in Uttar Pradesh, where both the ruling BJP and the opposition Samajwadi Party are actively shaping their narratives. Political observers view the exchange as part of a broader battle over governance, development, law and order, and social justice that is expected to dominate political discourse in the state.
