Ayodhya Donation Probe Intensifies: SIT Questions Key Figures as Counting Room Video Fuels Row

The controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in donation handling at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has deepened as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) continued its inquiry for the fourth consecutive day. Investigators have reportedly questioned more than 100 individuals linked to the collection, counting, management, and banking of temple donations, while a viral video purportedly showing the donation counting room has added a new dimension to the ongoing probe. According to information emerging from the investigation, the temple complex houses around 40 donation boxes, with offerings transferred to a designated counting center where cash is processed, documented, and later deposited into authorized bank accounts. The counting process reportedly involves temple trust personnel, banking officials, and technical staff, with CCTV surveillance installed throughout the facility. Sources indicate that SIT officials have examined financial procedures, reviewed CCTV footage, and questioned employees involved in donation management. Reports also suggest that investigators are scrutinizing the roles of several individuals associated with the temple administration. However, no official findings have been released so far. The issue has gained additional attention ahead of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s scheduled visit to Ayodhya. Political circles are closely watching developments after discussions emerged regarding representation from the temple trust during official engagements. Opposition parties have demanded greater transparency and an independent review of the matter, while government representatives have maintained that the SIT is conducting a thorough investigation and that strict action will be taken if any wrongdoing is established. Officials have urged the public to wait for the investigation’s conclusions rather than drawing premature conclusions.

As the probe continues, the alleged donation controversy has evolved into a major political and administrative issue, placing the spotlight on accountability, financial oversight, and trust management at one of India’s most significant religious sites.
