Found in Epstein files: Clue about missing German model surfaces after 11 years - report

A trace on the German model missing for 11 years came up for the first time when her name was apparently mentioned in the Epstein files. The woman, only identified as “Michele”, left her family home in September 2015, at the age 22 and has not been heard of since, a per a report from German news weekly Der Spiegel. After leaving Germany, Michele reportedly remained in contact with Daniel Siad, a model recruiter who has been linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case. According to Der Spiegel, she spent time in Dubai and other international locations before disappearing from contact.Siad is currently under investigation in France over allegations that he helped Epstein recruit and traffic women. He has denied the accusations. Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges involving minors.Siad’s name apparently appears repeatedly in documents linked to the Epstein case, including emails in which he allegedly shared photographs and physical details of women with Epstein. Among them were reportedly images of Michele, with one message allegedly stating that Epstein would “love her”.Documents contained in the Epstein files, released by the US Department of Justice in September 2025, reportedly show that Siad discussed Michele with Epstein in 2014, a year before her disappearance.According to the records cited by media reports, Siad sent Epstein a photograph of Michele in February 2014, saying it was the only picture he had of her from Dubai. Epstein reportedly replied, thanking him for the image. In another message the following month, Siad allegedly referred to Michele as “the girl you missed from Germany” and described her as someone he knew well, adding that Epstein would “love her”. However, there is no evidence that Michele ever met Epstein, according to Der Spiegel. However, the publication said it found no evidence that Michele ever met Epstein. Two former Epstein assistants also told the magazine they had never encountered Michele.More than a decade after her disappearance, Michele’s fate remains unknown. Her mother told the publication that she fears her daughter may no longer be alive and suspects that something may have happened to her.Meanwhile, according to Michele’s sister, mentioned in Daily Mail report, the aspiring model left home in 2015 without telling her family where she was going or how long she planned to be away. After a month without contact, relatives reported her missing to police. However, under German law, authorities could only launch an active search if there was evidence that a crime may have been committed. Her father, Vlado, told Der Spiegel that he and Michele’s mother, Annett, remain desperate for answers. “It’s so important to us that we find her again — no matter the situation,” he said.Family members said Michele had dreamed of becoming a model since her teenage years, a career choice her parents viewed with concern. Recalling conversations with her daughter, Annett said: “I wanted her to have a stable job. I told her: ‘You look beautiful now, but what will you do when you’re 30 or 40 and no one books you anymore?'”According to her family, Michele moved to Dubai in 2012 and told her mother she was working as a waitress. It was there, her mother said, that she met model recruiter Daniel Siad. Her father later claimed Michele had told him she was working for Siad as an escort.A former partner of Michele’s alleged that Siad frequently called her and verbally abused her. “She was constantly getting calls. Sometimes she was loudly insulted,” the former partner was quoted as saying, adding: “I had the impression that she was under a lot of pressure.”Michele later returned to Germany and entered rehabilitation, according to her family. Her father said the two often discussed plans for a fresh start. “We agreed: when I got back from vacation, we’d look for an apartment for her. And a real job,” he recalled. Those plans never materialised. Shortly after spending several days with her mother in August 2015, Michele disappeared without warning and has not been heard from since.
