Kannada psychological thriller ‘Vikalpa’ is directed by Pruthviraj Patil and the cast includes Nagashree Hebbar, Harini Shreekanth, Sandhya Vinayak, Vaddinagadde Ganapati Hegde, Swaroop Buchh and Pooja Buchh in significant roles. Now the psychological thriller is all set for it’s OTT release.
When and where to stream ‘Vikalpa’
The streaming platform officially confirmed the digital release through a social media post. Sharing the announcement, ZEE5 wrote, “ಸತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಭ್ರಮೆಯ ನಡುವೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿದ ಜೀವ. ಒಂದು ರೋಚಕ ಸೈಕಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ – ‘ವಿಕಲ್ಪ’ ಜೂನ್ 12ರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ZEE5ನಲ್ಲಿ.”The message translates to: “A life trapped between reality and illusion. A gripping psychological thriller – ‘Vikalpa’ streaming on your Kannada ZEE5 from June 12.” ‘Vikalpa’ tells the story of Pruthvi who is a successful businessman whose life appears perfect on the surface. Despite his achievements and stable personal life he continues to struggle with unexplained fears that have haunted him since childhood.As the story progresses, the hidden memories and unsettling experiences begin resurfacing.

We gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5 for this psychological thriller movie. ETimes noted, “Despite its flaws, Vikalpa remains engaging. The film benefits greatly from its cinematography, atmospheric sound design, and a memorable musical score. The songs are a highlight especially the emotionally resonant “Amma Neene Ella,” along with the Yakshagana-inspired tracks that add cultural depth and authenticity.”ETimes further wrote, “In conclusion, Vikalpa is a film rich in ideas and ambition. While it may not fully realise its potential due to tonal inconsistencies and narrative overcrowding it still offers enough intrigue and craftsmanship to make it a worthwhile watch particularly for fans of psychological thrillers who appreciate layered storytelling and thematic experimentation.”With it’s OTT release, ‘Vikalpa’ is expected to get much more attention in the coming days.
