Amid parallel developments of diplomatic efforts and military confrontation in the Middle East, tensions between the United States and Iran have intensified significantly. According to the report, the US carried out airstrikes on five Iranian cities for the second consecutive day, further escalating the conflict. In response, Iranian state media claimed that Tehran launched missile attacks on the US Al Harir Air Base in Iraq’s Erbil province and targeted several American military installations across the region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also claimed attacks on 18 US-linked military facilities, including Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem and Ahmad Al Jaber bases and Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base. The report outlined a timeline of escalating hostilities beginning on 8 June, with claims of Iran downing a US helicopter, followed by US retaliatory strikes and successive exchanges of attacks over the following days. Iranian media further claimed that its air defense systems forced a US F-16 aircraft away from the Persian Gulf. Meanwhile, Israeli security officials reportedly stated that Israel is not involved in the current US military operations against Iran. Following the latest attacks, Iran also announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and warned that any vessel attempting to pass through could face military action.
