Bihar Violence: Land Dispute Triggers Firing and Stone-Pelting in Chhapra

A violent clash broke out in Bihar’s Chhapra district after a dispute over a piece of land escalated between two groups. The conflict reportedly began over soil-filling work on a disputed plot in the Doriganj area. As tensions rose, members of both sides confronted each other with sticks and stones before the situation turned violent. Firing was also reported during the clash, creating panic across the village. Videos circulating on social media appear to show people throwing stones at each other. One youth sustained a serious gunshot injury, while several others from both groups were reportedly injured and taken to hospital for treatment. In a separate incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, a young woman walking along a road was allegedly hit by a speeding Thar SUV. CCTV footage captured the collision, showing the victim falling onto the road after impact. The vehicle reportedly fled the scene. Police have registered the complaint and are using CCTV footage to identify and locate the accused.
