Toyota also crossed the milestone of 3 lakh strong hybrid electric vehicle sales in India during the month.Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported domestic sales of 30,574 units in May 2026, registering a 4 per cent year-on-year increase from 29,280 units a year earlier, supported by continued demand across its vehicle lineup.
The automaker’s total sales, including exports, stood at 33,128 units during the month, up 7 per cent from 30,864 units in May 2025. Export volumes surged 61 per cent year-on-year to 2,554 units from 1,584 units a year earlier.
For the January–May 2026 period, Toyota’s domestic sales rose 16 per cent to 1,57,225 units, while total sales increased 17 per cent to 1,70,322 units compared with the corresponding period last year.
“The sustained demand across our product portfolio highlights a growing preference for quality, reliability and advanced technologies. This month marked a significant milestone as we crossed 3 lakh Strong Hybrid Electric vehicle (SHEV) sales in India,” said Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The May performance comes as the company continues to see traction across its portfolio in the domestic market, alongside growth in overseas shipments.
