‘Jana Nayagan’ box office collection Day 10; Thalapathy Vijay’s film jumps 119.7%; earns Rs 7.80 crore on Saturday
Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ witnessed a solid jump at the box office on its second Saturday after slowing down over the previous two days. The film collected Rs 7.80 crore India net on Day 10, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. This marks a 119.7% increase from its second Friday collection of Rs 3.55 crore.The film’s total India net collection has reached Rs 164.90 crore. The India gross now stands at Rs 192.50 crore. Overseas, the film earned Rs 3 crore on its 10th day, taking its international total to Rs 88 crore. As a result, the film’s worldwide gross collection has climbed to Rs 280.50 crore.
Week two begins with an encouraging recovery
After completing its first week with an impressive Rs 153.55 crore India net, the film witnessed the expected weekday slowdown. It earned Rs 4.05 crore on the second Thursday before dropping to Rs 3.55 crore on the second Friday. However, the second Saturday brought a magnificent turnaround as collections more than doubled.
Tamil version remains the biggest contributor
The Tamil version continued to dominate the film’s collections on Day 10. It contributed Rs 7.25 crore out of the day’s total India net earnings. The Hindi version collected Rs 50 lakhs, while the Telugu version added Rs 5 lakhs. Occupancy figures reflected this trend. The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 48.29%. The film recorded 28% occupancy during the morning shows. This increased to 47.08% in the afternoon. Evening shows reported 56.85%, while the night shows peaked at 61.23%.The Hindi version recorded an overall occupancy of 20.02%. It opened with 8.27% occupancy in the morning. The figure improved to 18.91% in the afternoon. Evening occupancy stood at 16%, before rising to 28.36% during the night shows.Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 7.50 crore in gross collections. Karnataka followed with Rs 50 lakhs while Kerala added Rs 35 lakhs. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed Rs 10 lakhs. The rest of India added another Rs 60 lakhs.These figures took the film’s Day 10 India gross collection to Rs 9.05 crore.
