Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported domestic SUV sales of 58,021 units in May 2026, up 11 per cent from 52,431 units in the corresponding month last year, as demand remained robust across its utility vehicle portfolio.

The company said total vehicle sales, including exports, stood at 99,636 units during the month, up 20 per cent year on year.

Overall utility vehicle sales, including exports, reached 59,573 units in May, while domestic commercial vehicle sales rose 19 per cent to 24,079 units.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “In May, we achieved SUV sales of 58,021 units, a growth of 11 per cent and total vehicle sales stood at 99,636, a 20 per cent YoY growth. The sustained demand across our portfolio continues, constrained by supply chain challenges due to manpower shortages at select suppliers.”

For the April-May period of FY27, domestic SUV sales grew 9 per cent to 1,14,352 units, compared with 1,04,761 units in the year-ago period.

In the commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra’s light commercial vehicles (below 2 tonnes) recorded sales of 3,490 units in May, up 35 per cent year-on-year. Sales of light commercial vehicles in the 2-3.5 tonne category increased 16 per cent to 20,589 units.

The company’s three-wheeler business delivered the strongest growth during the month, with sales surging 89 per cent to 12,536 units from 6,635 units a year ago. On a year-to-date basis, three-wheeler sales rose 85 per cent to 22,435 units.

Exports also remained strong, increasing 37 per cent to 5,000 units in May 2026 from 3,646 units in the corresponding month last year.
