The Shillong Teer lottery blends the traditional sport of archery with the excitement of winning cash prizes. Hugely popular across Meghalaya, it not only provides lucrative rewards but also plays a vital role in preserving and promoting the centuries-old art of archery.

HOW TO PLAY SHILLONG LOTTERY?

The Shillong Teer lottery is played in two short rounds, each lasting about two minutes. In the first round, skilled archers shoot 30 arrows, while the second round features 20 arrows. Players place their bets by selecting a number between 0 and 99, predicting how many arrows will hit the target.

Tickets can be purchased from authorised counters in denominations of Rs 1, Rs 5, Rs 10, Rs 20 and Rs 50. Winnings vary depending on both the ticket’s value and the accuracy of the prediction. For example, a correct guess in the first round with a Rs 1 ticket rewards Rs 80, while an accurate prediction in the second round gives Rs 60. Players who successfully predict numbers in both rounds can win as much as Rs 4,000 from just a Rs 1 ticket.

In addition to Shillong Teer, other popular Teer games include Juwai Teer, Khanapara Teer, Ladrymbai Teer and Night Teer.
