Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and State Brahmin Corporation Chairman Buchi Ramprasad on Saturday strongly condemned the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders after reports surfaced of chicken biryani being served at a Ganesh pandal in Nandigama.

Ramprasad termed the act an “attack on the Hindu faith” and demanded an immediate apology from Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

TDP National Spokesperson Deepak Reddy also slammed the YSRCP for allegedly distributing chicken biryani near a Ganesh Pandal, calling it an attack on Hindu sentiments. He accused the party of repeatedly indulging in anti-Hindu activities across the state.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against YSRCP leaders in Andhra Pradesh’s NTR district after they allegedly served chicken biryani meals near a Ganesh pandal in Nandigama while observing the death anniversary of former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Tension gripped the town on Tuesday as devotees objected to the event.

Police said YSRCP MLC Mondithoka Arun Kumar, former MLA Mondithoka Jaganmohan Rao, along with around 20 others, organised the event at the Gandhi Centre, where a Ganesh idol has been installed since August 27 and has been attracting a steady stream of devotees.

Circle Inspector YVVL Naidu objected to the event being conducted without permission and to the serving of non-vegetarian food near the pandal. However, the leaders went ahead with their plans.

The incident sparked outrage among devotees, who filed complaints with the police. Acting on this, Sub-Inspector Satakarni booked Arun Kumar, Jaganmohan Rao, and others involved. Police also cleared the site, seizing food containers, water cans, and other related items.
