Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been contemplating a visit to the United Kingdom ahead of the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. Ahead of their planned trip to the United Kingdom, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vacationing in Europe with their family this summer. With an intended getaway for family time, the couple is taking time to relax, along with their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s visit to Europe

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the California-based couple, packed their bags for a private vacation in mainland Europe, per Hello! However, the move has caused speculation ahead of their expected visit to the United Kingdom. As per the latest report by the BBC, the royal couple is now reconsidering after the police request was rejected. Prince Harry was scheduled to bring his wife and children for the first time in four years in early July. His team had requested special police protection for the entire family, but it was denied, citing that no taxpayer-funded security would be provided. This decision marks a difficult time for the Sussexes and requires them to reconsider the plans, as the security denial comes almost a week before the family visit.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s agreement on residence

Before the official security rejection, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s team confirmed that the couple had agreed to stay at the royal residence as a guest of King Charles III. However, Buckingham Palace officials stated that they did not receive any confirmation of acceptance. The couple was also expected to use private accommodations in the United Kingdom. Moreover, royal protection would have been granted at the royal estate, but not outside the premises. The last time King Charles III saw his grandchildren in person was during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
