Political tension continues in Kerala as the Congress party struggles to finalise its Chief Ministerial candidate despite securing a strong mandate. Internal disagreements within the party leadership have reportedly delayed a formal announcement, creating uncertainty over the leadership structure. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp political attack on the Congress, criticising its leadership and decision-making process. He stated that despite having a majority, the party is unable to form a stable government due to a lack of internal consensus among its leaders. He also made a pointed remark suggesting that Congress should consider rotating Chief Ministers annually if it cannot decide on a single leader. The Prime Minister further highlighted the BJP’s growing presence in Kerala, claiming that the party’s strength has now increased to three MLAs and expressing confidence that it will continue to expand in the state. He also referred to political developments in West Bengal to underline his broader argument about shifting political trends. The comments reflect intensifying political competition between the BJP and Congress in southern India, especially as both parties prepare for future electoral battles.
