Louis Vuitton’s menswear creative director Pharrell Williams and multi-hyphenate house ambassador j-hope have forged an exclusive collaboration, launching a reenvisioned LV Buttersoft Sneaker, originally designed for j-hope himself.

Fusing the performance of a track runner with Louis Vuitton’s signature Italian leathercraft, the Louis Vuitton x j-hope LV Buttersoft Sneaker comes alive with hand-stitched and hand-painted details. The tongue’s outside is embossed with the capsule’s dedicated logomark, bringing together the Louis Vuitton Paris stamp and j-hope’s signature, and the shoes also feature a textile label derived from the Louis Vuitton Speedy P9 bag.
The 2000s-inspired sneaker was originally created for j-hope as a custom companion to his world tour, mixing comfort with personalised details. Fans of the musician will pick up on a secret set of charms- squirrel and acorn emblems- located beneath the heel’s enchape along with the words “Your, My Hope,” printed on its wide, woven laces in reference to the artist’s stage name and hopeful attitude.

“Since joining the Louis Vuitton family as a house ambassador in 2023, j-hope’s confident demeanour and drive have naturally aligned with the house’s spirit of vibrance, visionary creativity, and artistry,” announced Louis Vuitton in a release. Known for his tenure with K-Pop band BTS, j-hope is an artist, dancer, rapper, and music producer.
The collaboration was first unveiled in December 2025 before pre-launching in Korea on March 25 then globally on April 30. Louis Vuitton’s men’s house ambassadors and friends of the brand span the industries of entertainment, music, and sports and include global names such as Callum Turner, Jeremy Allen White, Pusha T, BamBam, and Victor Wembanyama among others.
