Kareena drops cryptic note as Karisma’s children get relief in Sunjay’s estate dispute

'Justice will prevail,' Kareena Kapoor Khan drops cryptic note as Karisma Kapoor's kids get justice in Sunjay Kapur's estate dispute against Priya Kapur

On Thursday, the Delhi High Court granted interim relief in the ongoing estate dispute involving Karisma Kapoor’s children against Priya Sachdev Kapur. This dispute began after Karisma’s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur’s demise last year. On Thursday, the Court ordered that the status quo be maintained over the assets of Sunjay and Priya is restrained from Reacting to the development, Kareena took to Instagram Stories and wrote, “And there is light (red heart and rainbow emoticons). Justice and truth will always prevail. Chardikala (folded hands emoticon).”According to ANI, the Court has directed that account statements be submitted and has also restricted the operation of Sunjay Kapur’s foreign bank accounts and cryptocurrency holdings. It emphasised that the preservation of the estate is necessary, especially since the matter will take time to be resolved at trial. The Court further noted that all concerns raised by the petitioners must be addressed by the primary defendant, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The plea seeking interim injunction was filed by Sunjay’s children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor, who have questioned the authenticity of the will. Representing them, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani highlighted several alleged inconsistencies, including the wording of the document, its lack of registration, and doubts around how it was prepared. He argued that stricter scrutiny was warranted, given that Priya Kapur is both the propounder and the sole beneficiary of the will. Karisma and Sunjay had tied the knot in 2003 in a high-profile wedding that united two prominent families. However, their marriage eventually turned turbulent and ended in a contentious divorce in 2016, following a prolonged legal battle over finances and custody.Sunjay later married Priya Sachdev, while Karisma continued to live in Mumbai. After Sunjay’s sudden death on June 12, 2025, his estate — reportedly valued at ₹30,000 crore — became the centre of an intense legal dispute. In August, Priya submitted a document before the Delhi High Court claiming it to be his will, which was subsequently challenged by his children Samaira and Kiaan, along with his mother, Rani Kapur.Acting on behalf of her children, Karisma Kapoor filed a case alleging that the will had been fabricated by Priya, effectively excluding them from their rightful inheritance.
