Starring in the film that revolves around the mythic folk hero grappling with the past, the 57-year-old had an unsettling scene in the mud between the difficult battle. The actor jested, claiming that he is still getting out the mud from places even after the year of the shoot. Hugh Jackman reveals that a battle scene in ‘The Death of Robin Hood’ helped him know his co-star Elijah Ungvary “really well,” during an interview with People Magazine. “If you’d seen another film, we could have looked like lovers,” Jackman humorously said, before adding, “And Michael said, ‘I love it.’ There is a weird intimacy to hand-to-hand combat and the brutality of it.”Detailing the plot point where the duo had to be increasingly close together, Jackman said that the battle sequence was “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” At a particular time, the actor receives a heavy blow and lands on his opponent’s chest. The complex scene was filmed at night with an intense amount of mud, making Jackman react with, “I am still getting mud out of places, a year later.”

Directed by Michael Sarnoski, the film revolves around the legendary outlaw Robin Hood with a mysterious past. After finding himself in the middle of the battle, he is given a chance of salvation. Starring Hugh Jackman in a rugged look, the other cast members include Jodie Comer and Bill Skarsgård. ‘The Death of Robin Hood’ will hit the theatres on July 3, 2026.
