Ranveer Singh returns as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an elite operative undercover in Karachi under the alias Hamza Ali Mazari. The ensemble cast features R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun. At 229 minutes (nearly four hours), it is one of India’s longest mainstream releases. The film weaves real historical events like 26/11, the 2016 demonetisation, the Lyari gang wars into its fictional framework, and was shot across Thailand, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh to recreate Karachi’s streets and Pakistan’s border terrain. The film’s score by Shashwat Sachdev has topped streaming charts for six consecutive weeks. The film faced a copyright infringement suit from Trimurti Films alleging similarities with the 1989 film ‘Tridev’, the Delhi High Court declined an injunction but ordered the producers to maintain detailed financial records. A separate legal query arose over the rights to the ‘Oye Oye’ song, though neither issue materially impacted the film’s box office momentum.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
