In the Surat Katargam teacher suicide case, the police submitted a 3,000-page Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report to the court, revealing startling details. The report confirms that the deceased teacher had a physical relationship with a minor and underwent two abortions.

The complainant’s side has filed an affidavit in Surat court, opposing the minor’s bail. They have requested that charges under the POCSO Act, Section 376, and abortion-related provisions also be added, as the teacher herself was underage when the relationship occurred.

Nearly a month ago, a 19-year-old teacher from the Patidar community, working in a private tuition centre in Katargam, Surat, committed suicide by hanging. Investigations revealed harassment by a minor, prompting the teacher’s family to file a complaint. The police arrested both the minor and his father. The minor is currently in juvenile custody.

The police seized the teacher’s mobile and sent it to the FSL lab in Gandhinagar for detailed analysis. The 3,000-page report compiled data from WhatsApp and Gmail chats over five years, revealing a physical relationship between the teacher and the minor, including evidence of two abortions.

Piyush Mangukia, representing the complainant, said the FSL report exposes the relationship and abortions. “Since the teacher was also a minor at the time, the minor’s bail should be denied, and charges under POCSO, Section 376, and abortion provisions must be added,” he stated.

The minor’s family had applied for bail in Surat Sessions Court. The complainant’s lawyer submitted an affidavit warning that bail could lead to tampering with evidence. The next hearing is scheduled for September 1.
