Ranveer recalls Deepika’s pain while helping Dhurandhar co-star

'My wife also went through the same pain': Ranveer Singh recalls Deepika Padukone's pain while helping 'Dhurandhar' co-star

Rajat Arora got injured filming an action scene on ‘Dhurandhar’ set, playing Mukka in Aditya Dhar’s film. As he fell, Ranveer Singh rushed to lift him, relating via Deepika Padukone’s similar pain. Ranveer took him to first-aid, teaching resilience. Rajat shared learnings: actor bonding, character backstory depth, and creative surroundings use for impactful shots.

Actor Rajat Arora recalled sustaining an injury on the set of ‘Dhurandhar’ during an action sequence shoot. In an interview, Rajat, who plays Mukka in Aditya Dhar’s directorial, shared that as he hit the floor, co-star Ranveer Singh rushed over and lifted him up.

Rajat Arora recalls injury

Ranveer shared that he understood the agony firsthand, since his spouse, actress Deepika Padukone, had endured the same. Rajat later remembered Ranveer escorting him to the first-aid center. He was asked, “During the action sequences, did you face any injuries?”Responding to the question, Rajat told IANS, “Yes, there was an incident during an action scene where I got injured, but I continued performing until the shot was completed. After that, when I fell on the ground, Ranveer Singh came running towards me and picked me up and said “I know it is quite painful, as my wife also went through the same pain, and she also didn’t told any one when she was shooting.”” “Afterward, he took me to the first aid centre. So there are moments where they teach you resilience,” he added.

Rajat Arora’s shoot learnings

In the chat, Rajat also opened up about key lessons from shooting the blockbuster. He said working closely with veteran actors was among his most rewarding experiences. “We made sure that our bonding off-screen reflected on-screen as well. If there is no real connection between actors, it becomes visible on camera.”

Rajat Arora on character building

Rajat added that character development taught him plenty too. “For example, I was guided to think deeply about my character’s backstory—why he exists in the gang, what his purpose is. Even if certain details are not shown on screen, they help shape the performance,” he explained.Another key takeaway Rajat carries from the shoot is creatively using his surroundings. “In one scene, while others were sitting normally, I chose to sit differently and interact with the environment. The cinematographer appreciated that choice and framed the shot accordingly. These small details make a big difference”, concluded the actor.
