Why is Shilpa Shetty not celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi this year?

Shilpa had earlier shared an official statement on behalf of her family on Instagram. It revealed that the decision to step back from the festivities this year was due to a personal loss. The statement read, “Dear friends, With deep grief we regret to inform you, due to a bereavement in the family, this year we will not be holding our Ganpati celebrations.”

Kundra family observes mourning period for 13 days

In the same statement, the family explained that they would be observing a traditional mourning period. “We seek your understanding and prayers. With gratitude – The Kundra Family,” it concluded.Shilpa also mentioned that, as per tradition, the family would refrain from any religious festivities for 13 days. This gesture reflects the family’s respect for cultural customs even in difficult times.

Even while announcing her absence from the celebrations, Shilpa’s spirit of devotion shone through her words. She ended her message with, “Ganpati bappa morya, pudchyavarshi lav kar ya”, a phrase traditionally used to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha while lovingly inviting him to return next year.

Shilpa on the work front

On the work front, Shilpa was last seen in ‘Sukhee’, directed by Sonal Joshi. Next, she will be appearing in ‘KD: The Devil’, a Kannada action drama directed by Prem.
