Lakshmi Menon under investigation for alleged assault and threats to IT employee, reports say she is absconding, two arrested

TRIGGER WARNING: This article contains gruesome details of violence and can be potentially triggering to readers, discretion is advised.The Ernakulam North Police are preparing to question actress Lakshmi Menon in connection with the abduction and assault of an IT employee in Kochi. The incident, which began as a quarrel at a bar on Banerjee Road, escalated late Sunday night and led to the victim being allegedly kidnapped, beaten, and threatened inside a car.

As reported by Manorama Online, according to the complaint filed by Aluva native Aliyar Shah Saleem, an argument broke out between two groups at a bar in the city. Lakshmi Menon, along with Mithun, Aneesh, and another female friend, was reportedly part of one of the groups. The quarrel spilled out onto the street, and when the complainant and his friends attempted to leave, the accused allegedly followed their vehicle. Around 11:45 p.m., near the North Railway overbridge, the complainant’s car was stopped and he was forcibly dragged out.The FIR states that the complainant was taken into the accused’s vehicle, where he was beaten on his face and body and threatened with dire consequences. He was later released at Aluva–Paravur junction. Following his statement, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Mithun and Aneesh, residents of Aluva and Paravur, have already been taken into custody. CCTV footage reportedly helped the police trace the vehicle used in the abduction.

While the arrested men remain in custody, reportedly the police have also confirmed that Lakshmi Menon will be questioned in connection with the incident. However, reports suggest that she is currently absconding.Lakshmi, a native of Thrippunithura, first entered Malayalam cinema in 2011 with director Vinayan’s ‘Raghavinte Swantham Raziya’. She was seen in several Malayalam and Tamil films such as ‘Sundarapandian’, ‘Kutti Puli’, ‘Jigarthanda’, ‘Miruthan’, and her last outing was ‘Sabdham’
