Singer Madhubanti Bagchi says she put CONDITION before Aditya Dhar to feature in 'Dhurandhar' song 'Shararat'; 'Don't make…'

Singer Madhubanti Bagchi confessed her hesitation to appear in the music video for the hit song ‘Shararat’ from ‘Dhurandhar’. She questioned the filmmaker’s decision to include singers alongside actors. Bagchi’s sole condition for her participation was to avoid dancing, a request the director readily accepted. The song ‘Shararat’ from Ranveer Singh-led film ‘Dhurandhar’ went on to become a chartbuster track after the film’s release in theaters. It featured Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza while it was crooned by Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas. Even the singers starred in the movie. Talking about the same recently, Madhubanti said that she was quite hesistant to feature in the music video of the blockbuster.

Madhubanti Bagchi reveals she was hesistant to feature in ‘Shararat’ song

During a roundtable conversation on FEVER FM, Madhubanti Bagchi talked about how she became the part of the song’s music video. She shared, “I was hesitant. I am just extremely hesitant about everything other than going to the studio or staying at home.”She expressed that she will question everything other than the above-mentioned activities. Madhubanti revealed that she even asked ‘Dhurandhar’ filmmaker Aditya Dhar why he wants the singers to feature despite having actors, dancers, and others in the frame.She added, “He was so convinced about what he wants to do so there is not much that you can protest about. He said I want this and I said okay!” The singer then revealed that she put one condition before the filmmaker to agree to his demand. She revealed, “My only condition was that, ‘Do not make me dance!’ Because I don’t want people to see that! (laughs)”

The song is set during one of the major happenings in the movie – Ranveer Singh’s Hamza’s wedding with Sara Arjun’s Yalina. Ayesha and Krystle have portrayed the role of dancers at the ceremony in Karachi, while Madhubanti and Jasmine featured as the live singers crooning the song for the attendees. Composed by Sashwat Sachdev, the song has been choreographed by Vijay Ganguly.
