Two YouTubers were arrested after allegedly trying to enter a FIFA World Cup match without valid credentials. Beni Marmol and Pato Perrotta were taken into custody outside the Portugal vs. Colombia game in Miami after authorities said they used expired media passes to get into the stadium. According to police, the pair made it through multiple security checkpoints before being stopped. The YouTubers reportedly told officers they wanted to stream the match and cover the event. They now face criminal charges, although their manager says they have already been released on bail.

The incident happened before the Portugal vs. Colombia FIFA World Cup match in Miami. According to local reports, Marmol and Perrotta allegedly attempted to enter the stadium using media credentials that had expired after a previous match. Police said the two creators managed to get through three layers of security before they were stopped by officers. During questioning, Marmol reportedly admitted they were trying to get inside the stadium so they could live stream the game.Perrotta, meanwhile, reportedly told officers that he had been hired by a media company to review the event and was carrying his expired media credentials at the time. Authorities charged both YouTubers with interference with a sporting or entertainment event. If prosecutors determine they acted together to commit the offense, they could face a third-degree felony charge, which carries a maximum prison sentence of five years. They could also each receive a fine of up to $5,000 if convicted.

Following the arrests, the pair’s manager, Walter Costabel, shared an update with Todo Noticias. He said both creators were “fine” and confirmed that bail had already been paid.Costabel also stated that the two YouTubers are not facing deportation. However, he said they are no longer allowed near stadiums hosting FIFA World Cup matches while the legal process continues. According to him, the case is centered on the alleged interference with a sporting event.The incident has attracted attention online because of the popularity of both creators. Beni Marmol has more than 273,000 YouTube subscribers, while Pato Perrotta has over 525,000 subscribers.The case will now move through the legal system as authorities continue their investigation. For now, the two YouTubers remain out on bail but could still face serious legal consequences depending on how the case develops.
