Rakesh Bedi, honored for his role in ‘Dhurandhar’, humorously accepted his award, joking it was only half complete, mirroring the film’s status. He teased ‘Dhurandhar 2’ as ‘lightning fast’ and expressed joy at recognition for supporting actors. The sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, releases March 19, continuing the action with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal.

Veteran star Rakesh Bedi, who recently gained recognition for his role as Jameel Jamali in ‘Dhurandhar’, has recently shared some teasers about the second instalment. Rakesh Bedi talks about ‘Dhurandhar 2’

As reported by News18, the actor received the Extraordinary Performance of the Year for his role as Jameel. At the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2026, the actor was called to the stage to accept the prestigious honor. While accepting the award, he talked about ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and added, “It isn’t a full award – it’s only half, because the film itself is only half complete. The other half is still remaining.”“Award dena tha toh pura deta” (You should have given a full award), the actor joked on stage as he talked about the film and how half of the story still remains. In one of the quick interviews on the red carpet, the actor also labeled the second film as “lightning fast”, while choosing to remain silent about the plot. While further talking about his award, he also mentioned how he had been nominated for awards here and there; however, because of ‘Dhurandhar’, the awards will keep coming from now on. According to Moneycontrol, Bedi added, “Earlier, only the hero and heroine would get all the awards, and side actors were often side-lined. I am so happy that finally, artists like us are also getting recognized for the weight we bring to a story.”

About ‘Dhurandhar 2’

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is set for official release on March 19. Recently, as per Bollywood Hungama, it was confirmed that the film’s special preview will also be released a day earlier, and ticket sales have already begun. The film is set to pick off right after the events of the first film, with the trailer for the second film promising even more gruesome and action-packed scenes than before.Ranveer Singh will be reprising his role as Hamza Ali Mazari / Jaskirat Singh Rangi, while the main antagonist will now shift to Arjun Rampal. He plays the role of Major Iqbal in the film, and will be returning for the second installment.
