MG unveils 2026 MG4 at Beijing Auto Show

MSID 130631861 MG partnered with pop artist Jacky Tsai Morris Garages (MG) on Thursday showcased its latest electric mobility and intelligent driving technologies at the Beijing Auto Show, unveiling the 2026 MG4 in multiple variants while previewing upcoming models including the MG4X and the MG 07.

MG said the 2026 MG4, offered in six variants, features upgraded design and in-cabin technology aimed at improving user experience. The model introduces new exterior colour options such as Ice Crystal Blue and Almond Beige, along with a black floating roof and 17-inch Starry aluminium alloy wheels.

Inside, MG said the MG4 offers enhanced comfort features, including front seats with heating, ventilation, massage and memory functions. The cockpit includes an 8-inch driver instrument display and a 15.6-inch 2.5K ultra-high-definition touchscreen, with wireless CarPlay support and OPPO smart cockpit integration.

On the driver assistance side, MG said the updated MG4 adds new parking functions such as nose-in parking, custom DIY parking and dead-end parking, designed to address complex real-world scenarios.

MG said the MG4 remains a key part of its new energy strategy and continues to be positioned as a global benchmark in the pure electric hatchback segment. The company highlighted the model’s CTB (cell-to-body) integration technology, integrated thermal management, smart car-phone connectivity and a semi-solid battery.

The automaker claimed the MG4 has recorded monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units, ranking among the top three models in its segment, and has crossed 80,000 customers globally.

MG also announced that the MG4X, an A-segment pure electric SUV, will make its global debut in May. The company said even the entry-level MG4X variant will offer a semi-solid battery, rear-wheel drive and a five-link independent suspension as standard.

In addition, MG unveiled the MG 07, positioned as a flagship coupe model that will be offered in both pure electric and plug-in hybrid variants. MG said it has partnered autonomous driving firm Momenta to integrate advanced AI-based intelligent driving capabilities in the MG 07.

The MG 07 will be among the first production models to feature Momenta’s R7 solution, combining reinforcement learning-based world model technology with the XHEART X7 large-model chip. MG said this will enable features such as urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) and parking-space-to-parking-space assisted driving.
