Violent protests erupted in Patna on Monday after the death of two minor siblings, whose bodies were found inside a parked car in the city’s Indrapuri area on August 15.
The unrest unfolded on Atal Path, a major road in the city, where hundreds of protestors gathered, alleging foul play in the children’s deaths.

Visuals from the scene showed demonstrators blocking traffic, setting cars and bikes on fire, and clashing with police.
Officers were seen using lathis (batons) to disperse the crowd, while several vehicles burned in the middle of the road. A heavy police presence was deployed to bring the situation under control and restore order.
The incident that triggered the outrage occurred on Independence Day, when a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, reported to be siblings, were found unresponsive in a car parked in Indrapuri.
Police reached the spot after receiving information and recovered the children’s bodies. The identities of the children were later confirmed, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
Monday’s protest follows a similar demonstration last Friday, when residents blocked roads and burned tyres in Patna over the same issue. The protestors gathered without prior permission, prompting the police to file an FIR against them, Patna Central SP Diksha had confirmed.
While initial investigation by the police suggested death due to suffocation, the children’s families have alleged murder and demanded a thorough probe. As of now, no official post-mortem report has been released.
