Protests escalated on Saturday (21 February 2026) as the Bharatiya Janata Party staged demonstrations across multiple states—including Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Jammu & Kashmir—against the Indian National Congress over the AI Summit 2026 incident. The protests were in response to Youth Congress activists causing a disruption during the summit at the Bharat Mandapam, opposing the India-U.S. trade deal and chanting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Delhi, BJP Youth Morcha workers gathered outside the Congress headquarters carrying posters demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi. To manage the protest, Delhi Police installed double-layer barricades on Akbar Road, which were eventually breached by demonstrators. Several BJP workers were taken into custody for violating police orders. Delhi BJP president Vinod Sachdeva and MP Manoj Tiwari were present at the protest. Meanwhile, the four accused Youth Congress activists involved in the AI Summit disruption are scheduled to be presented in Patiala House Court today after being arrested for their role in the earlier protest. The nationwide protests reflect heightened political tensions following the AI Summit events and the controversial trade deal.
