In a recent interview, Chris Hemsworth expressed his enthusiasm for the gripping crime thriller ‘Crime 101.’ He praised the riveting script that evokes the essence of 90s suspense films, along with director Bart Layton’s unique vision as major attractions. The movie, adapted from a novella by Don Winslow, promises an electrifying chase between a cunning thief and an unyielding detective.

Chris Hemsworth’s latest project, ‘Crime 101,’ has caught a lot of eyes recently. While discussing the film, the actor delved deep into what made him stay for the project. The actor came clear about a lot of things, as many have been wondering if he accepted the project, as it was a chance to work with fellow Marvel co-star Mark Ruffalo again.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the actor cited that he read the script and fell in love with it. He also added that director Bart Layton was one of the main reasons why he wanted to work on the film as well. “I read the script and loved it because it felt like a real throwback to 90s thrillers,” he quipped, further adding that the script provided a sense of nostalgia that most projects these days lack a lot.

He further talked about Layton as well, citing how he met him for the project and how big of a fan he was of the filmmaker’s work. “I was a fan of Bart’s work and loved American Animals. It was a very character-driven drama with elaborate intersecting storylines. After our first meeting, I thought not only has he written an incredibly compelling script, but he also has a brilliant vision for the film,” he added.

Premise of ‘Crime 101’

‘Crime 101’, which is set to release worldwide on February 13, is a crime thriller drama that shows a cat-and-mouse chase between a criminal and an officer. The story of the film is based on a Don Winslow novella, and follows a famed thief who is planning a big mission to pick up some diamonds in a major heist in LA.
