Anoop Menon REACTS to Biju Menon-B Unnikrishnan controversy

‘What if the actor is busy shooting?’: Anoop Menon REACTS to Biju Menon’s non-participation in promotions

Anoop Menon defended Biju Menon’s absence from film promotions, citing contractual ambiguities and logistical challenges. He highlighted that promotional schedules aren’t always fixed, and actors might be committed to other projects. Menon stressed that marketing investment influences actor participation and urged for mutual trust, cautioning against hasty judgments.

Actor-filmmaker Anoop Menon has recently weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding Biju Menon’s absence from film promotions. During a press conference on Monday, February 9, FEFKA General Secretary B Unnikrishnan accused Biju Menon of not participating in film promotions, which allegedly cost the producer a loss of Rs 25 lakh. Anoop Menon has expressed his take on the row. He stated that while taking part in promotional activities is part of the contracts, these agreements do not generally specify the dates when they would take place. “What if the actor is shooting a film in Jammu and Kashmir at that time for ten days? Should the actor not be there at the time?” Anoop Menon asked. The actor expressed his opinion while he was promoting his upcoming film ‘Ee Thani Niram’.Anoop Menon also added that films do not necessarily release at the same time as the producers promise. He added that rigid expectations fail to account for overlapping schedules and logistical realities. He emphasized that mutual trust is pivotal in such situations. Anoop Menon also pointed out the role of marketing investment. He explained that the amount a producer spends on promotions often influences the extent of an actor’s involvement in those activities. “When there is such a symbiotic relationship between producers and artists, every artist comes for promotions,” he added.Anoop Menon further added that when an artist is filming for another project, and is out of station, forcing promotional activities would then again affect that project and the relationship between the actor in question and the other producer. He also emphasized that one must consider multiple aspects before judging anyone. He also added that there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to such agreements.B Unnikrishnan also pointed out that Biju Menon didn’t even participate in the promotional activities of his recent release ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ helmed by Jeethu Joseph. Biju Menon has not responded to the allegations yet.
